Soundcraft releases The Soundcraft Guide to Mixing iPad App
Published: ASIA
WEB: Harman brand Soundcraft has released its tutorial booklet – The Soundcraft Guide to Mixing – as an iPad App, which is available to download from the iTunes store. Keith Watson, marketing director for Harman’s Mixing Group described the App as an ‘inevitable next step’ for the company.
The new App is said to be ‘tailor-made’ for the iPad, and instructs a user as to how to set up and use an audio mixer. The App explains a mixer’s various controls and functions and demonstrates how to connect microphones, instruments and outboard effects. It also covers basic and advanced mixing techniques and includes instructions on using mixers for live sound and studio recording applications.
‘Since its introduction, The Soundcraft Guide to Mixing has become a popular reference for learning about what a mixer does and how to use one, and there are more than a million copies in use worldwide,’ stated Mr Watson.
‘It has become an invaluable educational tool for students, small bands, musicians, novice sound engineers and people who are starting their careers in pro audio. From its original booklet form it has evolved to become available as a web page, as a downloadable PDF, and in DVD and online video formats. The iPad is the perfect portable and interactive format for the guide,’ he enthused.
A free scaled-back version of the App will soon be available, which will contain one full chapter from the guide as well as extracts from various other chapters.
