Soundforce holds annual gathering in Seoul

SOUTH KOREA: Non-profit sound educational company Soundforce (SAFO) recently held its annual gathering in Seoul, which was attended by a number of CEOs from Korean distributors, including Hong Lee from Sound Solution (Midas and Adamson) and Yun Sung Bae from Kinoton Korea (Meyer Sound).

‘Soundforce provides professional education for church and live sound engineers,’ said Soundforce president KC-Jeong. ‘The company was founded in 2001, and gives lectures on the electronics and physics of sound, holding seminars twice a year. Soundforce also contributes to the Korean sound industry by providing educational opportunities and exchanging information with foreign sound companies.’

SAFO has a membership of approximately 700, with a further 100 dedicated to the live sound and church engineering sectors. ‘We have a regular SAFO course and hold two seminars on acoustics for members every year,’ said Mr Jeong. ‘SAFO lecturers are conducted by practiced sound engineers who work in the field. Our curriculum explains how to apply acoustical theory in the live sound field via three courses: electro acoustic, physical acoustics and practice, and instructs on how to apply this theory to the live sound field.

‘All members were fully satisfied by the event,’ he enthused. ‘In addition to Sound Solution and Kinoton Korea, many sound and video distributors were in attendance, and I think that this was great turnout and a good place to meet sellers and end users.’
