SSL C10 HD install for NBN Television

AUSTRALIA: A Solid State Logic C10 HD console has been installed into NBN Television’s on air studio in Newcastle, New South Wales. The 32+8-fader console is being used for the station’s one-hour news broadcast.
NBN chose the C10 after reportedly being impressed by its size, range of options and price. ‘We were looking at all the options, and had virtually made a decision to purchase an alternative brand, when I saw the C10 at the 2010 SMPTE last July,’ recalled NBN studio engineer Leo Perren. ‘The C10, a new model just released by SSL at the time, provided the configuration, layout and features we were looking for at the right price, as budget considerations were very important to us.’
NBN’s C10 includes the Dialogue Automix option, which provides intelligent level control for up to 16 microphones – a feature described as valuable to NBN in assisting its engineers during interviews and panel discussions. Also included is a 5.1 Upmix option and the Eyeconix system which displays a photo or graphic in the channel TFT display for quick source identification.
