Stage & Audio installs Harman solution for XXXX Island

AUSTRALIA: Stage & Audio recently installed a Harman Professional sound reinforcement system (distributed by Jands) to the XXXX Island – a man’s getaway destination located 15km off the Capricorn Coast. Currently the only way to get there is through winning competitions run by beverage company Lion, which it plans to hold regularly over the life of its three-year island lease.
One week before XXXX Island was due to open, the client contacted Rockhampton's Stage & Audio to design, supply and install an audio system into its custom-built bar. Head technician Aaron Buchholz promptly completed a site inspection. He had recently returned from a trip to Phuket, Thailand, where he noticed Harman products ‘in nearly every beach-front bar. I figured that if these products can put up with the harsh conditions such as salt and unstable power, then surely they would be a premium choice for XXXX Island,’ he reasoned.
‘I finally got confirmation on the Friday, promptly ordered the gear and it was all here by the Tuesday – it was a miracle it made it in time! I went over on Wednesday and installed the gear ahead of the Thursday opening.
‘We have a good relationship with Jands and they always supply great service and back up,’ he added. ‘It's a great system for a great bar: comprised of eight JBL Control 25 speakers, Crown XTI2002 power amplifiers and a Crown 28M mixer. Due to liquor licensing we also installed a dbx Drive Rack PA+ digital audio processor for volume limiting.
‘The only problem with installing such reliable gear is that I don’t get to go back there to repair it!’ he laughed.
