Stagecraft employs new dLive at Dildar Dandiya

INDIA: Coconut Events recently staged the 10-day Dildar Dandiya dance festival in Gujarat, calling on Stagecraft to deliver the PA setup. The rental company had recently acquired a new Allen & Heath dLive digital mixing system from the manufacturer’s Indian distributor, Sun Infonet, which it put to use as 12,000 audience members witnessed performances from Indian folk singers, Kirtidan Gadhvi, Nisha Barot and Jetal Soni at the Golden Memories Dome.

Stagecraft’s new dLive system is the second that it has added to its rental inventory and comprises an S7000 surface with a DM64 MixRack. This differs from the company’s existing system, which is formed of an S3000 and DM48. The newly-purchased S7000/DM64 system was used to mix FOH and monitors throughout the festival, managing the wide array of folk musical instruments, for a total of 64 inputs and 27 outputs. The DM64 was located on the stage and connected to the S7000 at FOH, as well as a laptop running dLive Director software that served as a monitor mixer.

‘dLive worked flawlessly for 10 consecutive days,’ enthused Pintu Mamrawala, system engineer and director of Stagecraft. ‘The flexibility of the dLive surface and complete open architecture allowed me to customise my own surface. The built in features, such as dynamic EQs, multi-band compressor and sub harmonic synth, made the job easier and I could feel and hear each and every instrument. dLive has become my default console for any event.’
