Stagetec announces new executive management

WORLD: Stefan Laubereau and Rainer Weiß have been named as new managing directors for Berlin-based manufacturer Stage Tec Entwicklungsgesellschaft, better known simply as Stagetec, part of the Salzbrenner Stagetec Mediagroup. The appointments follow the departure of the company’s former head of development and one of its executive directors, Helmut Jahne. In their new roles, Mr Laubereau and Mr Weiß will assist Wolfgang Salzbrenner in day-to-day operations as well as setting future strategy.
Known globally as the company behind products such as the Nexus audio routing and distribution system, the Aurus and Crescendo consoles, and the On-Air range of broadcast desks, Stagetec celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2013.
Both of the new managing directors boast long histories with the company. Mr Weiß, a certified banker and savings bank executive, first joined the Mediagroup in 2000 and is described as having served the company in a managerial capacity ever since. Mr Laubereau, a project engineer, arrived two years earlier in 1998, soon taking charge of international projects. He has also acted as branch manager of the Salzbrenner Stagetec Audio Video Mediensysteme GmbH affiliate in Berlin for many years.
Following the announcement, Mr Weiß declared that ‘the company’s objective for the coming year will be to spearhead digital innovation’, adding that the new management team will focus on ‘harnessing the Mediagroup’s synergies’.
