Stagetec Asia to represent Merging Technologies in South East Asia

ASIA: Merging Technologies has appointed Stagetec Asia as its exclusive distributor in key South East Asian territories including Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand. The deal sees the Swiss brand join an impressive portfolio including Junger, DHD, RTW, Sonifex, ADAM Audio plus, of course, Salzbrenner Stagetec Mediagroup and Delec.
The appointment is described by Merging as the latest step in a worldwide effort to partner with ‘young, dynamic companies that have sales and marketing ability and sufficient technical resource to satisfy demanding customers in rapidly growing markets’. It also follows the recent introduction of control over Merging’s Pyramix and Ovation systems from Stagetec’s Aurus console via the Oasis (Open Audio System Integration Solution) protocol.
According to Stagetec Asia managing director David Chan, the agreement is an opportunity to reintroduce the Merging range in the region. ‘Merging is a highly respected brand but not that well known in this region so we know we have some work to do to regain its rightful position,’ he explained. ‘However, we spent some time with the Merging team at IBC and I am fully confident that working together, we can build a solid business here. The products are very exciting.’
Merging sales and marketing manager Chris Hollebone commented: ‘Stagetec Asia came highly recommended and the first time I met David Chan and his team, I was extremely impressed with how they presented themselves and their brands. Having now spent more time together, I know the choice is right.’
