CHINA: A Delec Oratis intercom system consisting of 10 subscriber units connected to an MF4 matrix frame has been installed into one of China Education Television’s (CETV) HD OB vans. The Chinese branch of Stagetec Mediagroup supervised the project.
Originally equipped by Sony China Professional Solutions Group, the van was handed over to the station in 2010 and is used by the educational broadcaster for a wide variety of on-location productions, ranging from science reports to entertainment programmes to regional live sports coverage.
The comms system, which is now in operation, features an MF4 matrix frame with 15 slots. And with a capacity of up to 256 ports, accommodates the digital subscriber cards as well as four analogue audio cards, a party line card for managing analogue belt packs, and a Madi card. Besides serving as an intercom matrix, the MF4 in this configuration also reportedly operates as a basic audio matrix for the routing and forwarding of external audio signals.
