Star Hollywood hosts Asian Turbosound Flashline launch

THAILAND: Recently acquired Music Group brand Turbosound has launched its flagship Flashline line array into Asia with an all-day event hosted by Bangkok-based rental company Star Hollywood Entertainment, the first rental company in Asia to adopt the new system. The launch was reportedly attended by sound reinforcement companies and engineers from across the region, including visitors from China, Taiwan, Indonesia and Singapore.
Taking place in early June, the event was staged at Star Hollywood Entertainment’s new Bangkok premises – due to officially open on September 1st – with a representative Flashline rig erected between the company’s factory and multi-function offices offering broadcast, recording, distribution, warehousing, training and concert hall facilities.
Described as ‘modest-sized’, the demonstration system comprised approximately half of the rental company’s Flashline stock, with 18 Flashline TFS-900H tops, 12 TFS-900B subwoofers in central pairs, five TFS-Racks, six Flex Array TFA-600H out-hangs, two TFA-600L out-hangs, and six TFA-600HW in-fills, one each strapped on top of six central pairs of subwoofers. Laser inclinometers were used to align the four arrays based on EASE predictions by Turbosound Asian systems architect Howard Smart.
‘Before the demo some of the guests asked why Star Hollywood hadn't fielded their whole Flashline inventory,’ commented Mr Smart. ‘Once I fired up the system it was clear that the EASE Focus simulation was 100 per cent correct. Putting up any more would have been a pointless exercise. Flashline is a pleasure to work with and an amazing experience to listen to.’
Other highlights of the day included an introductory speech by Star Hollywood's owner Diane Klomchitcharoen, plus a presentation on the history of Turbosound, its current product offering and details of the demonstration system by Turbosound Asia sales manager Chris Gooddie. Visitors also toured Star Hollywood’s new facility.
