KOREA: Nexo’s STM was deployed recently for the World DJ Festival in Seoul. The event is the biggest DJ-based festival in the country attracting audiences of tens of thousands of people year-on-year. Nexo’s Korean Partner, Way Audio, was responsible for the sound system.
System designer Eddie Kim and the Way Audio team deployed a 15-set main PA, using M46 main and B112 bass cabinets. Low frequency reinforcement was handled by 34 S118s subwoofers, 14 of which were located per side and six in the centre. The side subs were positioned as close as possible to the main clusters, with the goal of overlapping subs and bass cabinets. The results according to the team were ‘extremely impressive’.
DJs performing at the festival came from all over the world and included Lets Be Friends, Andrew Rayel, Vinai, Mighty Fools and DJ Bl3nd. Mr Kim also deployed a sizable monitoring system for the DJs formed out of two stacks of STM enclosures. Each stack consisted of an M46, B112 and S118 cabinet.
