Substantial dB Technologies sale to Absolute Sound and Lighting

AUSTRALIA: A new Queensland production company named Absolute Sound and Lighting (ASL) has acquired a large complement of dB Technologies loudspeaker systems. The company purchased the equipment from dB Technologies’ Australian distributor CMI Music & Audio.

Located in Morayfield, approximately one hour north of Brisbane, ASL was founded by fellow managing directors Steve Teunis, already the owner of Guitar Exchange, a local MI store and music school, and local drum tutor and live engineer Camryn Brown. Mr Teunis reportedly already owned a selection of dB Technologies enclosures, hence the pair’s decision to expand their stock.

Following the purchase the company’s inventory now includes DVA line arrays, Flexsys mid-high units, S20 subwoofers, DVX series monitors and the manufacturer’s new digital Opera series. According to CMI Music & Audio, the sale has left ASL with ‘a DB box for every occasion’.

‘We have enough boxes to mix and match for every venue we come across,’ explained Mr Brown. ‘We have the line array and for those narrow smaller venues the Flexsys can be used with the S20 subwoofers when we don’t need to throw so far.’
