Sumber Ria brings Ali Topan to the stage

INDONESIA: Following on the heels of a string of famous Indonesian novels and movies turned on-stage musicals, a recent theatrical adaption of the 1970s novel Ali Topan saw rental house Sumber Ria supply a substantial Meyer Sound front of house system to production company Artistika Mahaswara Indonesia (or ArtSwara), alongside RCF monitoring and DiGiCo consoles.

Ali Topan Anak Jalanan (Ali Topan The Street Boy) was initially a novel by Teguh Esha, but the story was later bought to film and television. The plot tells of a disaffected Indonesian youth who befriends the poorer end of society before falling in love with a rich girl named Ana Karenina. The musical version of the famous story was staged at Graha Bhakti Budaya, Taman Ismail Marzuki art space in Central Jakarta.

Providing front of house sound reinforcement for the performances, which ran between April 11th and 17th, was a system comprising Meyer Sound M’elodie arrays mixed through a DiGiCo D1 console plus an Allen & Heath iLive 80 Pro. On-stage sound was via a DiGiCo SD8 and RCF Art-500 enclosures.
