INDONESIA: Sumber Ria recently supplied the audio for a musical show for children named Semut Merah Semut Hitam. Held at the Jakarta Theatre, Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), the show was created by Indonesian singer/songwriter Titiek Puspa.
Whilst a Toa line array system was provided by the venue itself, Sumber Ria supplied various Meyer Sound MM4 speakers for front-fill, which were installed discreetly so that the VIP section and front row of the audience could enjoy the show without any speakers blocking their view.
Meanwhile, Sumber Ria supplied two DiGiCo SD8 consoles, two Allen & Heath ML 5000 desks, and 60 Shure ULX wireless systems with headsets for the 60 dancers and singers, who sung and performed 55 songs in total. The team completed the entire installation overnight.
‘Originally, there was the challenge of accommodating 60 dancers and singers, all singing simultaneously using individual wireless headsets,’ commented Sumber Ria’s Andre Supryanata.
However, Sumber Ria was able to equip each performer with a Shure ULX system, along with a wireless frequency management system to prevent any interference.
Sumber Ria's FOH engineer, Dannes Item said that he was ‘pleased with the way the Shure ULX headsets performed without any glitches.’
Many Indonesian singers also performed during the show, including Camelia Malik, B3, Candil from the band Seurius, Nina Tamam, and Mytha Lestari. Costume designers Ivan Gunawan and Mr Musa and choreographer Arie Tulang also participated in the performance.
