Synergy AVL helps to celebrate Malay heritage in Singapore

Australian consultant DAS Studio appointed Synergy AVL Pte Ltd as the systems integrator and supplier for the project. A fully modular audio system offering flexibility was stipulated, allowing the sets and performances to be staged anywhere in the space. Following construction work to the walls and ceilings, Synergy AVL Pte Ltd set about the task of installing a total of nine microphone and Cat-5 inputs around the venue, which have been routed to a patchbay in the newly built upstairs open control room. Previously, just one stage box existed. Lighting bars with 48 DMX points on each bar were then suspended above the theatre, made more challenging by nature of the wooden ceiling that rises to a central apex. Ceiling grids have been added to accommodate the extra load created by the lighting bars and subwoofers.
Controlled from a Zero 88 lighting console, the dimmers are powered by TheatreLights TL-ED-2 DMX-Ethernet converters. The fully modular loudspeaker system utilises Outline 15-inch two way speakers in the theatre, but these are supplemented by ceiling installed Outline Eidos 215SW subwoofers, which added a further load to the central grid. QSC Audio GX7 and Yamaha P7000S / PC9500 amplifiers power the full inventory of speakers and subwoofers. Eight channels of Shure SLX wireless microphones are combined with Beta wired models, which are mixed on a Presonus StudioLive console.
