Tascam GM promoted to TEAC director

WORLD: Shoichiro Shiihara, the general manager of Tascam’s Professional Audio Division, has been promoted to the position of company director within the Teac Corporation. The move sees Mr Shiihara retain his current responsibilities within Tascam.

Mr Shiihara boasts an impressive track-record within the Teac Corporation, having joined the company in 1989 as a Japan-based salesperson of Tascam products. He rapidly went on to assume the roles of marketing manager, product co-ordinator and export sales manager for Asia and Oceania in addition to the United States and Europe. He was promoted to sales manager in June 2006 and Tascam business unit manager shortly afterwards in December that same year.

Two years later, he was named general manager for the Professional Audio Division whilst continuing in his position as sales manager. At the time he asserted that he aimed to ‘strengthen Tascam’s brand values, whilst providing strong leadership for the growth of the entire company’.
