TASCAM takes training to ACE

CHINA: TASCAM recently visited the Advanced Communication Equipment (International) Co Ltd (ACE) branch office in Guangzhou to provide a training workshop on the manufacturer’s latest products. Primarily focusing on the new DA-6400 series 64-channel multitrack recorders and their optional Madi cards, presentations were offered by TASCAM pro audio business unit product planning and marketing manager, Kazuhiko Endo, and pro audio business unit planning section manager, Yo Hosoi.
‘It was a good opportunity to introduce TASCAM’s new product line of 64-channel SSD recorders to ACE,’ commented Mr Hosoi. ‘Japanese broadcasters are already eager to install the DA-6400dp as a main or backup recorder and we're now discussing installations with some theatres and theme parks in Japan. With ACE engineers’ expert technical knowledge and firm grasp of the product’s usability, as well as knowledge about future TASCAM releases, I'm sure the DA-6400 series can be successfully installed into a variety of professional industry facilities in China.’
The 1U multitrack recorders come with a 240Gb SSD drive installed in a removable case. Two types of optional Madi card are available, with other interface options including Dante, AES/EBU and more reportedly available soon. In addition to the DA-6400 series, new products were also discussed such as the DR-10X (a micro recorder that connects directly onto an interview microphone) as well as the DR-10CS and DR-10CH, which are also micro recorders that can be used for backup recording with Sennheiser and Shure wireless transmitters.
‘The workshop was useful,’ enthused Sunny Li from ACE. ‘With the experienced tutors from TASCAM, it provided a great opportunity for ACE staff to learn TASCAM’s new products. The performance of the 64-channel recorders is fabulous. Also, as they are released, the DA-6400’s different interface cards mean we can offer the machine for different applications.’
