SINGAPORE: The Tawandang Microbrewery, a German-Thai restaurant and bar located at the entrance of Singapore’s Suntec City, has been installed with a TW Audio loudspeaker system by Lighting & Sound Distribution. The project followed a recent similar upgrade of the venue’s sister outlet, Dempsey.
The venue has become a popular landmark in Singapore serving German beers with international cuisine, whilst entertaining its patrons nightly with live music. The TW Audio system now serves the needs of the main restaurant area, with four ceiling-suspended M12 loudspeakers deployed as a main FOH L-R system powered by a Powersoft K2 DSP amplifier. Adding low end are two B30 subwoofers positioned below the stage and powered by a single Powersoft K3 DSP amplifier, while a further four M12 enclosures have been supplied for on-stage monitoring, powered by two Powersoft M30D amplifiers. The dining table and bar area, located away from the main stage, are served by six ceiling suspended TW Audio M6 speakers powered by a single Powersoft M28Q.
House engineer Kitt originates from Bangkok and is enjoying using the new PA system from the controls and faders of his analogue Allen & Heath GL3000 console. ‘It’s easy to configure and control on my own,’ he commented. ‘It provides a good ambiance in the venue and there have been few feedback issues to date, although I can control the acoustics quite easily with these speakers. Both the bands and the customers have given positive feedback so far.’
The background music in the outer bar area is served by eight wall-mounted Turbosound Impact 65 dual 5-inch speakers driven by an Ashly Audio Protea 8-channel amplifier.
