TEAC takes on Japanese distribution for dbTechnologies

JAPAN: dbTechnologies has confirmed a new distribution agreement for its products in Japan with TEAC Corporation (Tokyo Electronic Acoustic Company). Having operated in Japan for more than 60 years, TEAC will assign the distribution responsibilities to its TASCAM brand, which specialises in professional audio equipment. The deal was completed following meetings in Tokyo and at dbTechnologies’ headquarters in Bologna, where the team from TEAC toured the Italian manufacturer’s production and R&D departments.

‘TEAC Corp is the best possible partner to raise brand awareness and position dBTechnologies in such a complex marketplace,’ explained Giovanni Barbieri, sales and marketing director at dBTechnologies. ‘In the last few years, dBTechnologies has expanded its international distribution network and widened its product range. For this reason, we needed an experienced and widely respected partner to compete in the discerning Japanese Market. TEAC’s team recognised dBTechnologies’ potential and was more than ready to provide outstanding attention to all aspects of distribution, from sales and marketing, to customer support and training.’

‘I am very excited to break into the real sound reinforcement market in Japan with dBTechnologies,’ enthused TEAC’s executive VP of professional audio business unit, Kenji Matsu. ‘I believe this collaboration will bring new life to both companies and I am sure the relationship will grow even stronger.’

TEAC will introduce the dbTechnologies product portfolio to the Japanese market at a presentation event it will be hosting in Tokyo during October.
