THAILAND: The first FBT Vertus MLA steerable line array installation in Thailand has taken place in a new 300-seat teaching and conference room within Bangkok’s Phranakhon Rajabhat University. The construction of the facility, costing more than US$32million, began in 2009 with the official opening ceremony scheduled for later this month.
Rajabhat Universities represent a cornerstone of the Thai education system, offering a broader admissions policy than the country’s public universities.
FBT’s Thai distributor, Star Electronic Sales and Services Co Ltd, was awarded the contract to install sound systems in the new facility’s auditorium and conference room. The solution comprises two sets of Vertus MLA608a and MLA801a digital/mechanical steerable line arrays, plus two EvoMaxX 4a active speaker systems and two SubLINE 18Sa active subwoofers. The installation, which saw close collaboration between Star Electronic and FBT, was completed in mid-August.
‘It’s a great start for our Vertus MLA digital/mechanical line array,’ enthused FBT export manager Roberto Mataloni. ‘We could have not asked for a better project to prove the qualities and features of this amazing sound system. The Bangkok Phranakhon Rajabhat is a beautiful, brand new university and its large auditorium is simply perfect with the Vertus MLAs.’
Saengchai Chavanaittinant, VP of sales for Star Electronic, added: ‘When we were asked to find the best sound solution for this auditorium, we immediately worked out the most appropriate system configuration with FBT and together we are quite proud of the good work done. Most of all the University management is truly satisfied with the sound quality. It’s very probable that more projects will arrive soon.’
