The Brothers Four tour with Metrix

JAPAN: US folk singing group The Brothers Four recently relied upon Adamson’s Metrix speaker system to provide audio services for their Japanese Tour. OTA Audio was handed the task of designing a system for the 20-city tour able to cater to a wide variety of venues, from smaller, intimate club settings to large performance halls.

‘My original perception of the Metrix system was that it is was designed for rock and roll, not necessarily acoustic groups,’ explained Mr Ota, managing director of OTA Audio. ‘But I have found that it provides a high performance acoustic sound. The band sounds pure and unprocessed.’

On tour with the band were 12 Metrix enclosures, typically ground-stacked with six on each side of the stage, and four Metrix subwoofers stacked underneath, two per side. Four Powersoft K3 DSP+AESOP powered the system.

‘With an acoustic act you want to reinforce the instruments and vocals while keeping the sound natural,’ added Mr Ota. ‘The Metrix system did that perfectly. We can easily pick up the sensitive nuances during the mix to reinforce the act. The audience and band are quite delighted with the Metrix system.’
