The Grand selects Sony’s Twin Peak

HONG KONG: The Grand, the largest multiplex cinema in Hong Kong, is to install Sony’s 4K Twin Peak solution into its largest auditorium, making it the first in the country to use the 4K/3D technology.
‘The reasons why we chose Sony are quite simple – quality and reliability,’ said Wendy Nam, consultant for The Grand. ‘We have seen demonstrations from different vendors, but at the end of the day, only Sony’s 4K digital projectors deliver the sharpest images with unmatched colour intensity and contrast.’
The Twin Peak solution in the main auditorium consists of two Sony SRX-R320 4K digital cinema projectors. The Grand has also procured an SRX-R515P 4K projector for small-to-medium theatres.
‘The Grand has always strived to remain at the forefront of cinema technologies, and we’re delighted that they have again chosen to use Sony’s 4K digital cinema systems due to their positive experiences with our equipment and services,’ commented Tadahiro Fukumoto, GM visual presentation solutions division, Professional Solutions Company (PSAP), Sony Electronics Asia Pacific. ‘All cinema patrons in Hong Kong can look forward to an enhanced and unprecedented movie-going experience at The Grand.’
