TOA installs Singapores Japanese Primary School

SINGAPORE: A TOA audio system has been installed within Singapore’s Japanese Primary School, which sits opposite the National University of Singapore (NUS).
The installation – conducted by systems integrator Zone All Pte Ltd – required particular sensitivity regarding the school’s residential surroundings.
Located at 95 Clementi Road, Singapore, the Japanese Primary School’s campus boasts a sports field, a swimming pool, two playgrounds and a pet corner in 20,825-sq-m of real estate. Inside the main building meanwhile is an auditorium and a gymnasium plus two libraries, a laboratory, an audiovisual studio, a computer lab and dedicated classrooms for a wide range of subjects.
In approaching the installation, Zone All Pte Ltd found itself presented with a range of challenges including the age of the building itself, and the heavily residential area that surrounds it. Arguably the greatest difficulty however was the time-frame in which the project had to be completed, with the company only being given the school holidays to finish. As a result, working hours for the onsite technicians were extended.
Ensuring that the surrounding houses remain undisturbed meanwhile are six SC-615M horns which fire highly focused audio onto the school’s playing fields, delivering audible messages to students without troubling the facility’s neighbours.
In its entirety the installation comprised 133 BS-633AT wall mounted loudspeakers, four PC-658R in-ceiling speakers, the six SC-615M paging horn speakers and a DA-100L console located in the school’s broadcasting room.
According to TOA, the addition of the wall-mounted BS-633AT enclosures has been particularly welcomed by the school’s faculty and students, with easy volume adjustment proving a popular feature.
