TSL acquires Celtic Audio to boost audio monitoring range

WORLD: Broadcasting equipment specialist Television Systems Limited (TSL) has announced the acquisition of UK-based Celtic Audio, a manufacturer specialising in audio monitoring technology. The acquisition is effective immediately.

The sale serves as the culmination of a long-term relationship between the two companies who have worked together to help design and manufacture TSL’s range of audio monitoring products for the broadcast sector. TSL managing director David Phillips commented that ‘the full acquisition of Celtic Audio now consolidates all of the engineering and design expertise under one company’.

David Lyon, a director of Celtic Audio, is to act as a design consultant to TSL, while his fellow director John Watkinson is expected to refocus his attention on other projects. Celtic Audio’s managing director David Lambert is expected to retire upon the completion of the handover, following more than five decades in the industry.

‘We have very much enjoyed working with TSL on a variety of audio technology projects,’ commented Mr Lambert. ‘Our award winning designs have contributed to their achievements as they expand their professional audio technology range. We are pleased that Celtic has now been formally absorbed into TSL and we wish the company the best.’

The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
