TW Audio aids leading Guangzhou circus

CHINA: One of the leading tourist attractions in Guangzhou has chosen Germany’s TW Audio to provide front of house sound reinforcement. The comprehensive system has been installed into the Chime Long Grand Theatre, home of the Chime Long International Circus and located within the renowned Chime Long tourist park – an officially designated scenic zone within the city.
The Chime Long Grand Theatre houses regular circus performances for audiences of up to 8,000 spectators. Technology is at the heart of the circus show, with a reportedly ‘huge investment’ having gone into the theatre’s creation.
A recent decision to improve the theatre’s audio system led to regional distributor Guangzhou Ruisheng Audio and Lighting Equipment Co Ltd supplying a new TW Audio FOH system comprising 16 Vera 10 line array speakers for the main hangs plus eight S30 subwoofers for low end. A further four enclosures are used as side-fills.
Following the installation, the theatre was visited by Chinese Ministry of Culture representative Huang Herong, who praised the installation. ‘There is enough loudness in the audience area and good voice coverage,’ he commented. ‘There is precise acoustic image positioning and uniformed acoustic distribution. There are no acoustic pitfalls, an overall good sense of balance, a beautiful tone and good resolution.’
