ASIA: UniAudio Asia Pte Ltd has been announced as d&b audiotechnik’s new sales partner for Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines. The news sees d&b join a portfolio of brands that already includes DPA Microphones and Wisycom.
Yusof Ahmad, the founder of UniAudio Asia, has hailed the German loudspeaker brand as ‘complementing our existing product portfolio and allowing us to enhance our package. With this sales agreement, we hope to achieve a more comprehensive product mix.’
According to Mr Ahmad, the objective of the agreement is to ‘achieve a better focus. We already distribute other products in these countries through our respective representatives, and for these three countries in particular, we hope to increase the brand’s presence by collaborating closely both with the manufacturer and with the clients’.
Having worked with d&b before, Mr Ahmad added that due to the brand’s ‘ongoing improvement and effort within various segments, the company is showing a good sign of growth and is heading in the right direction. They have a good business philosophy as well. It is a reputable brand, and with their strong support we hope the collaboration will achieve better mileage for both companies.’
‘All the markets of South East Asia are important to d&b and most have developed well over recent years,’ contributed Peter Tongue, sales director at d&b audiotechnik GmbH. ‘However, although we have won quite a number of projects in Malaysia and Thailand we felt we needed a dedicated sales partner specifically representing d&b in these important markets, as well as the Philippines,’ he explained.
‘By partnering with experienced sales partner UniAudio, we can look forward to not only increased sales and market share, but the highest level of service and support to which d&b clients are accustomed,’ he asserted. ‘In turn, UniAudio can also rely on the support from Sebastian Song and his team based in our regional hub in Singapore. I think this is an exciting opportunity for both UniAudio and d&b in the region,’ he concluded.
The deal was finalised in January 2012 when Mr Tongue and Mr Song, managing director of d&b South East Asia visited Mr Ahmad at UniAudio’s Singaporean offices.
