SINAGPORE: Singapore based rental company XJ Audio and Visual Productions recently increased its inventory of PA equipment by adding an extensive KV2 Audio system. Acquired from Singaporean distributor Sindo exports Pte Ltd, the relatively young company has already carved out a significant niche catering for corporate events, weddings and private parties. The new rental stock comprises of a pair of KV2 Audio EX2.5 and two ES2.6 subwoofers to supplement the low frequencies. A pair of KV2 ES1.0 three-way loudspeakers with 12-inch mid-bass driver and a pair of KV2 ES1.5 15-inch high output subwoofers which are managed by a pair of KV2 EPAK2500 amplification and control elements.
‘The speakers are compact in size and provide very high output, which are both important considerations when thinking about increasingly limited truck sizes and finite manpower and resources,’ explained XJ Audio and Visual Productions owner, XJ Chan. ‘Having heard the KV2 speakers at a demonstration, I was seriously impressed with the fidelity – the highs do not degrade drastically even after 30m. You can set these systems up for large applications of up to 3,000 people, so in terms of value for money they provide a performance similar to other leading brands but at a more affordable price point. They’re also virtually plug-and-play and it’s been easy to train the crew how to set them up. Even the lighting guy knows how to hook it up!’
In addition, the fledgling company also bought six EX12 two-way speakers complete with rain jackets, so they can be deployed outdoors. Rated at 500W RMS, the 12-inch models provide a wide dispersion courtesy of the 80-degress H x 40-degrees V horn.
‘Once again, these speakers offer good value for money and plenty of deployment options,’ added Mr Chan. ‘They really are multi-purpose and the flying gear has been really well designed. The Yoke for the EX12 allows easy flying onto standard 300mm trusses.’
