Yvette Atienza named Artiste Elite Ambassador

SINGAPORE: Audio-Technica (SEA) has signed Singapore-based jazz singer Yvette Atienza to its endorsement programme, named the Elites of Audio-Technica. A prominent figure within the Singaporean jazz community for some 30 years, Ms Atienza was considered a pioneer of jazz and latin jazz vocal styles in the early 1990s, when the local music scene was still in its infancy.

Initially set-up in 2012, the Elites of Audio-Technica programme has since gone on to lend support to the Singaporean music scene by providing selected artists with equipment and advice. Ms Atienza, having performed and recorded with numerous well-known international artists, still performs regularly at popular venues such as SingJazz and BluJaz. She also runs her own music programme where she mentors aspiring singers. Her microphone of choice is an A-T Artist Elite AE5400 condenser.

‘No other microphone can capture my full vocal potential like the AE5400,’ she explained. ‘I have been looking for a microphone that can best suit my voice for a very long time and when I tried this microphone, I knew it was the one.’

‘In this programme, our aim is to seek out the best of the best in the local music industry and Yvette Atienza is no doubt an elite when it comes to jazz and latin jazz singing,’ commented Audio-Technica regional sales manager Teng Shaokai. ‘We are absolutely impressed by her vocal prowess and the AE5400 microphone suits her voice perfectly. We are very excited to see what this collaboration will bring us.’

Additionally, Audio-Technica has published an online interview with pop singer Alarice Thio, also a member of the Elites of Audio-Technica programme and a user of the AE3300 condenser microphone.
