Zhaoqing Radio installs Studer OnAir Modulo mixers

CHINA: Zhaoqing Radio in Guangdong has recently added two Studer OnAir 2500 Modulo mixing consoles to its existing complement of Soundcraft desks. Acquired through Harman distributor Advanced Communications Equipment (ACE), the desks are installed in the two live studios that broadcast music and traffic information over local radio.

According to ACE technician Liang Ke Zhang, the ultimate goal was to clean up distortion that hindered previous broadcasts and add clarity to the voices of radio hosts. ‘We wanted low distortion and a wide but linear frequency range,’ he explained. ‘The new Studer OnAir consoles allow us to have clean sound that adds fullness to both male and female voices. To achieve this, the sound should have sufficient depth.’

Equipped with 12 faders and a large number of inputs and outputs, the consoles can also be integrated into custom studio furniture, providing a streamlined look that matches the newly renovated studios.

‘The customers were surprised that the consoles add so much range and depth to the mix,’ added Mr Zhang. ‘Overall, the network is very satisfied that Studer is able to deliver such a huge impact.’
