5 Star supplies CT Doha

QATAR: Flightcase manufacturer 5 Star Cases has shipped the first part of an order for over 100 road cases for live event A/V and video specialist Creative Technology’s (CT) facility in Doha.
These are to house a variety of kit used day-to-day by the busy rental operation which is headed by general manager Andy Reardon, including control systems, racks, a variety of different sized plasma screens, mains and power distros, 3U drawered racks, plastic blow-moulded cases with CNC machined foam inserts for audio and video processors and a number of high-end bespoke designed cases to house assorted cameras.
‘I believe strongly in the products that 5 Star produce and appreciate the level to which they get involved and the amount of detail that goes in to each project,’ said Mr Reardon. ‘From the initial phone call through the design and drawing stages right to the final delivery.’
Some of the cases were built on previous models that had been created for CT – for continuity – while others were completely new. Each one of them, to some extent, required a degree of customisation. They were manufactured in the UK to 5 Star’s, utilising a range of 5 Star case specifications according to the kit being housed, ranging from Lite-Flite to the heavy duty Super Tour.
All the cases were finished in the signature CT black laminate exterior with yellow base or lid enhancement, together with screen-printed CT branding. ‘It was a pleasure to continue business with CT and the scale of the investment a real endorsement of our products,’ said 5 Star’s Keith Sykes.
