Almoe installs Mall of the Emirates video wall

UAE: Almoe AV Systems has completed work on the installation of the largest indoor LCD video wall in Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates. The installation comprises of 54 Samsung 55-inch LCD screens to create the display wall on the first floor of the mall.
The nine wide by six high, matrix wall is fed with corporate promotional videos and public signage messages. The team worked closely with a structural contractor to design and build a rugged back steel support for installing the display wall mounts. Chief’s video wall mounts are distributed precisely to ensure the performance from of the ‘ultra-thin’ feature of the UD 55 is maximised.
The installed screens offer 60Hz direct-lit LED LCD technology with 5,000:1 contrast ratio and glare is minimised by having an anti-reflective coating over tempered glass. Each of the displays are equipped with SBB modules and wired in a single network, which Samsung’s signage solution, Magic Info, operates through. The Displays are also wired in DVI loops to ensure the source content remains at full HD resolution with every operation.
The control is achieved by HP Ethernet and power distribution is handled with APC power sequencers. Samsung’s Multi-display controller software is used for switching the displays for power status and its source selection needs.
The Almoe AV Systems team worked at a minimum height of 11m and during the mall shutdown period to ensure little, or no, disruption to mall activities.
