Aret provides complete broadcast solution for Kuwait National Assembly

KUWAIT: Aret Audio & Video Engineering has completed an installation at the Kuwait National Assembly’s new parliament broadcasting studio. The entire system was installed during the summer closure of the parliament, with Aret taking care of all working phases, from design and the choice of equipment, to project planning, installation, commissioning and training.
Destined for use in a legislative environment, the installed system had to be capable of simultaneously creating recordings for archiving purposes as well as transmission of the sessions being discussed by the Kuwait parliament. In addition to this, it had to be able to automate the process of creating and recalling numerous pre-sets for all of the speakers’ stations.
The television cameras in the studio had to operate by remote commands, given that they are equipped with robotic heads controlled from remote stations. Even the on-screen graphics had to be interfaced with the automated system so as to be controlled by the speaker’s microphone system. The result is that every time a member of parliament speaks from their workstation, they push a button on the microphone and, automatically, the television camera moves, sets up the frame, broadcasts the images and also pilots the related script with the name of the speaker superimposed or with other graphic effects.
To accomplish these goals, Aret fitted the studio with six Ikegami HDK-55 16-Bit cameras – mounted on automated FHR-35 heads by Vinten Radamec – a 2ME Carbonite mixer, and Kroma Telecom monitoring.
All of the modular units, including an external DSK were manufactured by Ross Video. This included a Ross Carbonite video mixer, Ross video matrixes with redundant power, analogue and digital converters, up-down-cross converters and everything necessary for composing a complete broadcast quality system. The team also installed a tally system and below monitor display system which can also be managed completely automatically.
To simplify a complicated process, Aret says the automation equipment installed provides a guaranteed delivery time for broadcast. This was a highly determining factor in the selection of the system.
The entire system was created and delivered during the summer closure of parliament. To meet this deadline the company pre-wired the system in Milan.
