Argosy appoints new technical director

WORLD: Argosy has promoted Josh Simons to its board of directors with the responsibility for all technical matters including product reviews and selection. Mr Simons has been with Argosy since April 1998.

‘This is a well-deserved appointment to our board as Josh has played a key role in our company for 14 years – and his involvement with product development with our partner companies as well as product selection has been at the core of our success,’ said Mike Purnell, director at Argosy. ‘Josh has been responsible for reviewing market opportunities and technological trends around the world and is continually engaged in detailed technology discussions with our partners and customers alike including those broadcasters, post production houses and systems integrators implementing file-based HD infrastructure solutions. His diligent approach has allowed us to ensure that our product selection is both the best-in-class and the most suited to our customer’s infrastructure needs today and into the future.’

The steady growth of the cable manufacturer in recent years has led to it expanding its management team and facilities in the UK and overseas. In addition to its corporate headquarters in the UK, the company has a UK branch office and warehouse facility at The Pie Factory at MediaCityUK on Salford Quays, Manchester. Argosy also has an office and stock facility in Dubai (UAE) and it has recently appointed a new distributor, M.G.India, based in New Delhi, India, to provide the warehousing and distribution capabilities for the company across India and South Asia. Additionally Argosy has a joint venture company, Argosy Broadcast Asia Sdn Bhd (ABA) in Malaysia.
