Atempo celebrates 25 years in business

TURKEY: Turkish distributor Atempo is celebrating 25 years of selling sound systems. The distributor represents a number of brands including Electro-Voice and Dynacord and EVI Audio has sent the company congratulations on its achievements.

Atempo initially limited its activities to Turkey. However, thanks its product portfolio and the skills of the team led by MD Mujdat Konuralp, Atempo soon expanded both geographically and in terms of the range of products and services supplied. The company now covers professional audiovisual solutions, not only in Turkey but also in Azerbaijan, Russia, Ukraine, North Cypress, Georgia, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. To handle flow of orders, Atempo now has three branches in Turkey and a team of 118 employees, including 34 are electro- and IT-engineers.

‘Electro-Voice and Dynacord are our flagships,’ said Volkan Konuralp, Atempo’s regional director for Istanbul. ‘We push both brands in all our various business lines. In fact, we have built our entire structure around them,’ he continued. ‘Communication with the management is simply perfect. That has proved a decisive factor on numerous prestigious projects: we have invariably received the support we wanted. This gave us the solid foundation upon which our success has been built and allowed us to be permanently optimising and expanding our business.’

These projects include some of the largest and best-known venues in Turkey. ‘We cover the entire bandwidth,’ said Mr Konuralp, ‘from bars and exclusive restaurants and clubs of all sizes to the very largest halls and stadiums.’

One such example is the 3,500-seater Istanbul Congress Center in Harbiye, the largest multi-function hall in Turkey, which is equipped with a NetMax-based Electro-Voice XLC system. Another is the Muhsin Ertugrul Theater, which is the largest and most modern in the country. With a stage capacity of 600 and opened by the Prime Minister in 2010, the theatre again boasts an Electro-Voice XLC system. On the sports arenas side, its latest example is the Sinan Erdem Sports Dome. Capable of accommodating 10,000 spectators, this was the venue for the finals of the World Basketball Championships in 2010 and, once again, Electro-Voice loudspeakers and amplifiers feature prominently in its inventory.

The company’s future is being planned in a carefully considered way. Atempo’s system portfolio is tailored to the needs of the market. For this reason, in 2011 and 2012 optimisation of the staff’s technical expertise and the fine-tuning of system components – as well as expansion of the broadcasting segment – are top of the agenda.
