Atempo equips National Defence Industry boardroom

TURKEY: Atempo has recently completed an A/V and conference systems installation at the National Defence Industry in Anakara. The project involved systems for a multi-purpose room and a boardroom.
The bulk of the work has taken place at the 29-seat conference room where Atempo has installed a Bosch DCN digital conferencing solution. ‘The customer wanted a wire free system for the aesthetics, so we did everything flush mount,’ explained regional director Volkan Konuralp. The company installed one chairman and 28 delegate units all with voting capabilities.
‘The Bosch System was very easy to setup and operate, so it was a good choice for the customer,’ noted Mr Konuralp. ‘There is also a 3+1 language wireless simultaneous interpretation system in the room which is also integrated to conference system.’
Video conferencing is also available at the site with Atempo installing a complementary Bosch dome camera setup which will move to the delegate who is speaking. ‘Having the conference system and the camera system from the same manufactorer makes this capability a very easy integration for us. The camera feed is bundled with audio from the conference units and the wireless microphones then recorded for archiving.’
The visual side of the project is covered by 29 retractable screens from Gabriel which were selected for their low-noise motors as well as error detection and networking capabilities. Added to this is a large video wall from Samsung.
Away from the conferencing setup, audio in the room features two TOA WS-200 wireless mic systems as well as a combination of Electro-Voice Evid C4.2 4-inch speakers with an ELX-118 sub and TOA F-2000W 8-inch cabinets. Power is via Electro-Voice Q66 and Q44 amps while processing is courtesy of a pair of Sabine Nav 8802-S-MER-(E) DSPs. ‘We prefered Sabine because it gives a very good price/quality ratio and can be controlled with RS-232 which is a quite remarkable property for a digital processor of its price level,’ explained Mr Konuralp.
‘The customer wanted to control all of these systems and their full functionalities with a central automation system,’ recalled Mr Konuralp. ‘We have installed an AMX system here that can control the audio of the room, conference systems if needed, video routing of the camera system, signal routing to the Samsung Video Wall, and to all the delegate screens simultaneously or individually. Also the AMX automation is connected to the building’s KNX lighting automation system and hence can control the boardroom lights.’
The regional director is clearly veryy proud of the work done for this project and is happy with the end result. ‘Overall, the Defence Industry came to us with a request to build a high-tech but architecturally elegant meeting room. We have implemented all the boardroom technologies and successfully worked with the requests of the architect. As our project manager for this project Levent Secen says; “This is an exampleary boardroom where high-tech meets architectural elegance”.’
