KENYA: Audio Visual Engineering (AVE) has been named as a sponsor for the Broadcast, Film and Music Africa conference. The pro A/V supplier, headed up by Omar Abdulla is participating with the support of Sennheiser Middle East.
AVE is managing all the technical requirements for the event. This includes everything from the audio systems to projectors and screens. As a sponsor, Sennheiser will be providing microphones for the stage section which will be showcasing some local talent as well as providing the mics for the conference.
‘We see Kenya as the next big market to develop within the region. The recent elections have seen moves by the government to develop both education and infrastructure in a lot of sectors, this includes broadcast and hospitality. Both obvious sectors for new business for us,’ noted Sennheiser Middle East’s Ryan Burr. ‘There is also some movement with the oil industry in the country and this means that there is a new revenue stream that the government can use to help subsidise these developments. This also makes the country a more attractive growth market for us.
‘Lastly, it’s the most stable country in that region and acts as a hub when it comes to central/east African countries,’ continues Mr Burr. ‘We have many potential customers from places like Nigeria and Uganda that are happy to use Nairobi as a good meeting point.’
Broadcast, Film and Music Africa takes place at Nairobi’s Kenyatta International Conference Centre on the 26th and 27th June.
