Avalon channel strips used by J-Lo in Dubai

UAE: Four Avalon VT-737sp mono tube channel strips have been put to use by sound engineer Rick Camp for vocals in Jennifer Lopez’ Dance Again World Tour performance at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre.
The channel strip combines tube preamplifiers, an opto-compressor, a sweep equaliser, output level and VU metering. It is often found in a studio setting, but the manufacturer’s local distributor is keen to highlight the number of artists using the VT-737sp in the live environment.
‘Many people think Avalon gear is only for studios, but actually many artists are touring with Avalon equipment,’ said Beata Mablad from Avalon distributor BM Audio Equipments. ‘It gets used for live events a lot.’
