Beachcombers opts for K-Array

UAE: Beachcombers restaurant in Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach Hotel has recently invested in a new K-Array KR100 system. The solution was purchased through local distributor Sennheiser Middle East and installed by Al Futtaim Technologies.

‘The point was to be discrete and the KR100 system – which is just a pair of tops and a pair of 12-inch subs – has a very small footprint,’ said Sennheiser’s Ryan Burr. ‘It fitted the application perfectly; you wouldn’t even know there were speakers there.’

One of the features that Beachcombers was reportedly impressed with was the fact that its performers could go right up to the speakers as they were walking around the restaurant with no feedback whatsoever. ‘In a restaurant area and an environment that is enclosed, that is paramount especially as they are walking around,’ noted Mr Burr.

To allow its performers to move around the restaurant and out onto the beachfront area, Beachcombers has also installed an eight way wireless microphone system. ‘Because they have an outdoor area we had to setup an antenna system so they could literally walk on the beach playing their guitars,’ explained Sanjay Kumar of Al Futtaim Technologies. ‘They are using two antennas, one outside and one inside so when they are wandering around on the beach they can still be picked up.’
