UAE: Bose Professional will use InfoComm MEA for the first public showing of its new Bose FreeSpace Configurator web application. The manufacturer will use the show to hold technology demonstrations of the application.

This web-based interface has reportedly been developed in response to market feedback from sound designers, system integrators and dealers who expressed the need for a tool that would help them configure a sound system for a retail, restaurant or hospitality environment, and easily present installation designs to customers. As a result, a software development team set out to develop a tool that would not require prior knowledge of Bose product options or acoustical design, but still enable a designer or integrator to create a comprehensive solution for a retail or restaurant end user.

The tool begins with entering the room dimensions, to ensure that the right products are designed into the space, instead of pre-selecting products that may not be the right solution. System designs may be up to two zones, and include surface- or flush-mount loudspeakers, amplifiers, processing, required brackets and other accessories.

‘The FreeSpace Configurator web application will help our customers more efficiently design a sound system that meets their customers’ requirements, and provide greater visibility into the proposed audio solution, resulting in less surprises once the job is installed,’ said Fuat Koro, Bose Professional director of global marketing and business development.
