Business Link Electronics installs Extron in Abu Dhabis FNC

UAE: Abu Dhabi-based systems integrator Business Link Electronics has installed what it describes as a ‘unique audio visual solution’ based around Extron technology in the Zayed Grand Hall congress hall at the Federal National Council in Abu Dhabi.
The system was designed by Eng Mohammed Sabah, general manager and partner at Business Link. The solution was required to take a variety of inputs sources and distribute them to desktop units in the congress hall. ‘I selected a combination of items from Extron, including touchscreen control, to create a scalable solution with several input sources, such as satellite, broadcast cameras, DVD, OB van and PCs. The signal is then distributed over UTP to more than 78 tables with a selectable switch between the master or local PC , all done in cost effective solution due to customer’s budget ,’ explained Mr Sabah.
It was a 45-day project which was done in parallel with the interior design contractor as the new furniture was installed. This timescale included the supply of the equipment, pulling of hundreds of cables and PVC pipes, final configuration and touchpanel programming. ‘It was big challenge since no mistake would be accepted,’ recalled Mr Sabah. ‘The date of the first meeting was decided and advertised and we needed to be ready with the new setup and design for this date. We were very worried about the time due to the hundreds of connectors and terminations we needed to do, but we got the system installed in time along with the sophisticated touch panel programming.’
Mr Sabah is rightly proud of the project. ‘It was a really good job, we managed to install a unique, high-performance system in a short timeframe and at a minimum cost.’
