Cal becomes first AVB-certified speaker

WORLD: Meyer Sound’s Cal range of loudspeaker products has become the first in class to receive AVnu certification by the AVnu Alliance. This certification is given to devices that have implemented the IEEE AVB (Audio Video Bridging) standards and passed AVnu Alliance’s testing for interoperability and compliance.

‘Meyer Sound embraces technology that yields superior audio performance and operating simplicity for our customers,’ said Luke Jenks, director of product management at the company. ‘By aggressively addressing the issue of interoperability through AVnu certification, we have taken an important step to help customers create end-to-end A/V networks that are easier to plan and less costly to install.’

Third-party testing house, the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL), conduct the AVnu certification programme. Other products that have received the certification include the AVB hardware and software reference platform from XMOS, Crown Audio’s DCi amps and switches from Extreme Networks.
