Cape Audio College invests in JBL

SOUTH AFRICA: Cape Audio College has recently acquired a JBL VRX900 Series constant curvature line array. The new system was purchased through local distributor, Wild & Marr, and will be used as a portable sound system for training student sound engineers as part of the college’s Live Sound Module.

‘We were looking for a scalable sound system that could deliver power and offer flexibility and the VRX does just that, whether as a single point system or expanding it to a larger format,’ explained Cape Audio College’s head, Rae de Jager. ‘It is also budget friendly, which was an extra plus point.’

The college’s JBL VRX System comprises six JBL VRX932LA-1 line array loudspeakers, a pair of VRX-AF rigging frames, six VRX918S 18-inch subwoofers as well as four PRX715M 15-inch speakers that will be used for stage monitoring. Amplification is done with four Crown IT 9000HD running V5 tunings.

‘We are excited that the students will receive live audio training with a professional product such as the JBL VRX900 Series,’ added Andrew Sorrill from Wild & Marr. ‘The VRX is extremely versatile offering power handling, clarity and stunning audio in an affordable package.’
