CCG supplies ADFF

UAE: Creative Communications Group (CCG) was chosen to be the main contractor/supplier for the tenth annual Abu Dhabi Film Festival (ADFF 2014). This is the second year in a row the rental house has worked with the festival.
CCG was required to supply all the A/V equipment whilst also managing and directing the entire event from the technical aspect. For decoration and set-up, CCG contracted Kobeco to design and supply all set-up and decoration for each venue. ADFF 2014 featured several events in multiple venues. CCG supplied the A/V equipment for the red carpet area, opening and closing ceremonies and after-parties, an Arabian night along with several network gatherings and workshops.
‘It took our team six days to install the main three locations (red carpet, opening night and network night) and another four days for the (Arabian night and closing night), it was tiring but enjoyable,’ said Jalal Dudin CEO of CCG. ‘The only challenge we faced in this event was time, as we only had 10 days to work at the venues to set up the entire A/V system, along with staging and trussing.’
The event's key installations were at the main four venues and CCG called on a variety of systems to cover these areas. At the red carpet the rental house installed studio lights with Meyer Sound MM-4XPD miniature speakers for announcements and background music. For the opening party it installed an L-Acoustics Kudo line-array along with d&b audiotechnik E series side fills to cover the large area for 2,000 guests. The Arabian night also featured a Kudo line array to cover a wide space on the beach and the network gathering required d&b Q series and E series systems.
The sound design for each ADFF 2014 venue were all created by Philip Venter, CCG’s head of sound department assisted by Shawn Brown while the lighting design for all venues was by Michel Khairallah, assisted by head of department, Rikus De-Cock.
According to the rental house, the event this year was more detailed in terms of production and had a larger scope of work than the previous year. It describes the festival as ‘once again a massive success and a big step forward in terms of production ambition and values’.
‘Working with Twofour54 and ADFF on all their standards and requirements is always pleasurable as we are a Twofour54 partner, in other words we are very proud to be part of ADFF 2014,’ concluded Mr Dudin.
