Cimatech completes Ferdowsi International Grand Hotel project

IRAN: Cimatech has completed its installation at the Ferdowsi International Grand Hotel. The project saw the integrator fit A/V systems to the hotel’s 130-seat amphitheatre and 60-seat conference hall.

‘The hotel wanted the most advanced professional A/V systems for its convention centre and we supplied the best,’ explained Cimatech managing director Amir Kord. ‘They were my first customer in private sector who decided to invest in such professional and high-end products in this range and we from our side did our best for them.’

For amphitheatre, Cimatech installed a DIS touch screen conference system for the podium and digital IR with one interpreted language for the rest of the auditorium. The customer decided to reduce the number of interpreted languages to save on space in its interpreters’ booth. Also installed in the hall are three sets of Panasonic AW-HE50H remote control HD cameras and a line array from Electro-Voice and Dynacord.

In the conference hall there is a DIS touchscreen system plus digital IR and a pair of HD cameras. These HD cameras receive auto tracking commands from the DIS conference system. There is also a small sound system from EV and Behringer.

‘In this project we were worried about the sound system due to special design of both halls,’ said Mr Kord. ‘The amphitheatre has a shape like half of an ellipsoid and the conference hall is like a dome. So, for the sound system we asked the EV distributor in Iran to do the calculations for us and they did it through EV’s technical support manager in the UAE,’ he explained.

‘The only thing which was different for us was sound system,’ stated Mr Kord. ‘The amphitheatre was not very big and it was the first time that we installed line array in such a small hall with a stage with a very short depth (about 2.9m),’ he continued. ‘Although technically there is no obstacle to using a line array for small halls, it was a new experience for us.

‘We also had a new experience in the sound system for the conference hall,’ continued the managing director. ‘It was like a dome and the only location where we could install the speakers was a ring on the ceiling with all the cabinets facing down towards conference units. This made us worry about feedback, but fortunately it works properly.’

It was a 10 month project in total done in collaboration with the decoration, but the A/V install only required around two months of site time.

‘We are very happy with results of this project,’ concluded Mr Kord. ‘The nice design of the DIS touchscreen DC6990P units and their good sound quality with plenty of features on it, including HD Video tracking and capturing by Panasonic AW-HE50H cameras, plus  precise calculation of EV engineering team which led to a very intelligible sound quality and finally noise free Digital IR interpretation system of DIS made a good reference of installation for us.’
