Cimatech installs conference system at Urmia Chamber of Commerce

IRAN: Cimatech has installed a new conferencing system at the Urmia Chamber of Commerce in northwest Iran. The system consists of equipment from Danish Interpretation Systems (DIS), Electro-Voice and Panasonic.

The region has close links to Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Iraq and has forged good business relationships in these countries. As a result, the Urmia Chamber of Commerce recently decided to build an advanced conference hall to host its regional meetings.

The initial brief for the project was for a 63-delegate system including a three-camera setup with 34 16-inch monitors and a PA system for video conferencing. The competitive bidding process was extended by two-months and this proved advantageous for the project. ‘The advantage for Urmia Chamber of Commerce was that Panasonic released its brand new AW-HE50H camera, and we had enough time to make it compatible with the DIS CDS4000 system to provide video tracking functionality for the conference hall,’ explained Cimatech managing director, Amir Kord.

Cimatech installed 63 DIS CM/DM4420 conference units from the CDS4000 series with video tracking from the three Panasonic HD cameras. The PA system consisted of 12 Electro-Voice Evid 4.2 speakers. ‘It has nice sound quality for conference halls,’ said Mr Kord. ‘I usually use at least four sets of this speaker in my projects for conference halls as it helps to control feedback effect.’

The system was given its first test shortly after the completion of the installation. ‘Just few days after installation, the customer held The 43rd Nation Wide Meeting of Heads of Chambers of Commerce. All the systems work perfectly and the customer was very satisfied for performance of them.’

This was the first time the company had used HD cameras for video tracking, but it was certainly a positive experience for Mr Kord. ‘The result and the picture quality were fantastic. We had quoted seven other conference halls based on Sony SD cameras, but these have all now accepted to change their camera systems to the new Panasonic HD camera.’
