Crestron and Electrosonic SA to part ways

SOUTH AFRICA: As part of its international direct distribution strategy, Crestron is reportedly set to open an office in South Africa. This decision brings to an end the long-term relationship the manufacturer has had with its local distributor, Electrosonic SA.

‘Electrosonic SA has been distributing Crestron products in Southern Africa for the last 20 years. It is sad to see such a long and fruitful relationship coming to an end, but as we all know, change is inevitable,’ said Bruce Genricks, managing director of Electrosonic SA in a company statement. ‘While it is sad to relinquish such a prestigious brand, it does, however, allow Electrosonic SA to concentrate our resources on our other brands.

‘Electrosonic SA still has a complete product range of leading brands of audio visual products,’ continued Mr Genricks. ‘We cover everything from control, touch panels, signal switching and distribution, scalers, range extension, speakers, amplifiers, display, projection screens, video wall controllers, collaboration and dimming.’

The distributor will continue to service its Crestron dealers in both sales and support up until 10th July 2015. Following this date, Crestron will take over these responsibilities.

‘We will work together with Crestron and make every effort to ensure that this transition is as smooth as possible,’ concluded Mr Genrincks.
