Darwish Technology wins Ras Laffan contract

QATAR: Darwish Technology has been awarded the contract for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of audio visual control systems at The Multipurpose Administration Complex Phase-I at Ras Laffan.
The project includes a Medical Centre and an office/canteen building where the audiovisual systems need to be installed. According to Darwish Technology, each building has separate areas which need to be equipped with high-end A/V systems to meet the user’s training, conferencing and business meeting requirements.
The scope of the project comprises a 20-seat Medical Centre conference room, 16 typical eight-14 seat meeting rooms, simulation room, 12-seat video conference room, 36- seat conferencing room, prayer room and various other meeting rooms.
Some of these areas will be equipped with a full blown A/V solution ranging from video projection, sound reinforcement, control, congress and video conference systems.
A typical meeting room will consist of a Panasonic projector mounted on a Draper micro projector ceiling lift and an 84-inch/100-inch motorised projection screen from Draper for the video projection System. The audio system will comprise of two Nexo wall mount speakers along with a Nexo system controller, a Biamp AudiaFlex and a QSC low impedance stereo power amplifier. Each meeting room will have an A/V floor box allowing connectivity for PC and video devices and an Extron PC interface will be provided to cater for various input formats from the user devices. The switching between the sources will be done with an Extron DVS 510 multiformat switcher.
The Medical Centre Conference room will feature a 3,000 ANSI Lumens Panasonic projector, two NEC 42-inch plasma display panels with smart interactive overlay’s, a Wolfvision Vizualizer, 100-inch Draper motorized screen, a Biamp AudiaFlex digital signal processor, two Extron Crosspoint Switchers, Polycom high definition video conferencing system, Sennheiser wireless microphones, two Nexo wall mount speakers, a QSC power amplifier and an AMX Control system with an 8.4-inch wireless Touch panel.
The 12-seat video conference room has been designed purely for audio/video conferencing. It will include two 65-inch NEC plasma display panels, a Polycom HD video conferencing system, Extron Crosspoint switchers, Biamp DSP, Nexo speakers and QSC amps. The entire functionality of the room will be controlled with an AMX 8.4-inch wireless touch panel. Added to this, a DIS congress system has been designed for the room featuring 12 conference units with gooseneck Mic’s, a central control unit and various software including seven-channel recording.
The 36-seat conference room is the largest on the site and has been designed to be used for meetings and Training. The room will have most of the same functionality as others, but additionally will feature a complete congress a simultaneous interpretation system from DIS and Bose ceiling speakers.
