DAS Audio celebrates 40 years in business

WORLD: DAS Audio is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2011, with international marketing director Robert Giner describing the loudspeaker manufacturer as ‘a special company with a unique culture that fosters and rewards entrepreneurship’.

DAS Audio was founded in 1971 by a young industrial engineer named Juan Alberola, the son of a composer and music educator. As an avid follower of music, Mr Alberola parlayed his love of music and high end hi-fi systems into a sound system installation business for nightclubs and bars. Due to the high cost of imported loudspeaker products, Mr Alberola began designing and manufacturing his own loudspeaker systems.

By the 1990s, DAS had developed a global presence with distribution in five continents. In order to provide faster and more efficient logistics on the American continent, the company established a subsidiary in the United States known as DAS Audio of America, which is itself marketing its 15th anniversary this year.

‘There’s a very special sense of commitment by everyone at DAS to develop and sell cutting-edge products with the the highest level of sound quality, exceptional feature sets, and world-class reliability,’ Mr Giner continued. ‘As we move forward, I am confident our rich history of innovation will continue.’
