Delta achieves OHSAS certification

UAE: Dubai-based rental house, Delta Sound, has been awarded with BSI’s OHSAS 18001 certification (Occupational Health & Safety Assessment Series). The company describes the certification as ‘a great achievement’ adding that it highlights the commitment the rental house has to creating a ‘healthier and safer work environment’ on job sites as well as at Delta’s premises.

OHSAS 18001 is a framework for an occupational health and safety management system. According to the standards organisation’s website, it can ‘help put in place the policies, procedures and controls needed for an organisation to achieve the best possible working conditions, aligned to internationally recognised best practice’.

‘We have been able to look at many procedures that would normally fall outside of H&S, as well as highlighting where we have to make improvements. The reason for this is to improve health and safety for everyone around us,’ explained managing director Andy Jackson. ‘It is a great achievement and documents our progress as a company. It has also highlighted the actual risks that we have to deal with on a day to day basis.’
