Delta adds to inventory for Janet Jackson concert

UAE: Dubai-based rental company, Delta Sound, has added to its inventory with the purchase of an Avalon VT-737sp. This was one of a number of purchases the rental house has made recently to enhance its stock.
The 2U preamplifier features a combination of tube preamplifiers, opto-compressor and sweep equaliser. And Delta’s new purchase was put through its paces for the first time at the recent Janet Jackson concert at Abu Dhabi’s Flash Arena on Yas Island.
For the concert itself, Delta opted for an L-Acoustics V-Dosc rig. It was a 16 per side setup for the V-Doscs plus nine dV-Doscs per side for fill. Covering low end were 32 SB218 subs. ‘It was a standard Yas setup for us,’ said Delta Sound’s Andy Jackson. ‘We did all the control side of the show, as well as providing the radios.
‘It was a touring production so we worked closely with their engineers and gave them a system that was flat and ready to go,’ added Mr Jackson. ‘Ultimately the mix is down to them.’
