UAE: Delta Sound provided the audio for one of the last outdoor concerts of the season in Dubai. The rental house supplied audio and DJ equipment for the Wiz Khalifa supported by Tinie Tempah performance.
The main PA system featured 10 L-Acoustics V-Dosc per side with three stacks of two dV-Dosc as underfills all powered by LA48 amps. For outfills, an additional six Kudos on each side were put to use, driven by LA8 amplifiers. Low end was covered by 24 SB218s used using `Sub Arc array` processing. XTA DP448 and DP226 units were also in use for the show.
The onstage audio consisted of 10 Audio Analyst FR12 wedges set along the front of the stage with a further four added as rear wedges. L-Acoustics Arcs and SB218s speakers made up the side fills. Additionally, four HK Audio 112 speakers were used for guest DJ fill whilst the in-ear monitoring solution was Sennheiser’s G3.
There were three different DJ setups: one for each artist – event opener DJ David Vendeta followed by Tinie Tempah and finally Wiz Khalifa. Included in the DJ gear were six Pioneer CDJ2000 CD players, a pair of the manufacturer’s DJM800 mixers as well as a Rane TTM57SL mixer, three Technics SL1210 turn tables and a Serrato interface.
FOH control was made up of a DiGiCo SD8, Avid Profile and some outboard processing units. The Yamaha PM5D was used as monitor console, as both Tinie Tempah’s and Wiz Khalifa’s engineers had specified the desk. Also in use was an eight-way Shure UR4D wireless mic system with UR2 58 handhelds.
Comms was handled by 12 Motorola GP340 handsets with a dozen covert in line earpieces and remote mics. A Clear-Com SB440 four channel master station was also put to use, as were eight beyerdynamic DT108 headsets and eight RS501 beltpacks.
